The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Regional Communication Team Member and Editor of the Daily Democrat, Mr. Emmanuel Opare Gyan, spoke on Radio 1’s morning show, Oman Mu Nsem. During the discussion, he appealed to the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, urging him to be cautious about the people around him.

Mr. Opare explained, “If the new Inspector General of Police, Yohuno, doesn’t want people to jubilate after he retires, then he should be careful and avoid dismissing those who held high positions under Dr. Dampare.”

He further stated, “I really know Ghanaians, and I know that when power is transferred from one person to another, many will come forward to speak ill of their predecessors. This happens even in the house of God—when a pastor is transferred to another church, others often speak negatively about him.”

He continued by advising, “COP and new IGP Yohuno should adopt only the positive aspects of former IGP Akufo Dampare’s leadership and discard anything he believes will not benefit the country. This advice is not just for the new IGP but for the police force as a whole.”
