NDC Regional Communication Team member, Kofi Odame, speaking on Radio 1’s morning show, addressed the recent controversy surrounding a claim made by Hon. Ntim Fordjour. The MP had alleged that he witnessed a flight land in Ghana carrying a full load of cocaine.
According to Kofi Odame, “He cannot be hiding as a Member of Parliament and be saying things he has not seen with evidence.”
He went on to clarify, “The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has not gone to Hon. Ntim Fordjour’s house to arrest him. They only went there to investigate, so people should not say NDC members went to arrest Hon. Fordjour.”
Furthermore, he added, “Some time ago, when the murder case of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale came up, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong—according to the Speaker of Parliament—was told that the investigative authorities would visit his house as part of the process.”

He emphasized, “How would they arrest him? They only went there with security personnel just to gather information. That’s the main reason the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) visited his house.”
He also pointed out, “The NIB has the right to carry out investigations. In fact, they are constitutionally mandated to do what is right. That is their responsibility.”
Kofi Odame concluded, “If not because of the constitutional rule, do you think Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader of the NPP, would come out and say they will not allow it?”
