Mr. Alfred Owusu Ameyaw, the Forestry District Manager for Atewa, has advised the general public to always seek permission from the Forestry Commission before cutting down any trees, whether on farms, in homes, schools, or any other location.

Speaking on the “Our Land, Our Future” program on Radio 1, Mr. Owusu Ameyaw emphasized that failing to obtain the necessary approval before felling trees is illegal and could lead to arrest and prosecution.

“Trees are national assets. No matter where they are located, you need to contact the Forestry Commission for authorization before cutting them. Ignoring this can lead to serious consequences,” he warned.

The Atewa District Forestry Manager’s remarks come as part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental protection and sustainable land use across the country.
