Speaking at the funeral of Presby Churchist Mr. Acheampong at Akyem Adukrom, Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo emphasized the need to upgrade cocoa farming in Ghana to benefit farmers and strengthen the economy.
He noted that with cocoa production thriving in areas like Bunsu and the presence of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) in Tafo, there is great potential for growth in the sector.
Dr. Ampofo revealed plans to meet with the Okyehene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, to discuss pressing issues affecting cocoa farmers.
He also hinted that a new cocoa price would be announced on Monday, bringing hope to many farmers across the country.
