New Achimota Anglican Basic School came alive on World Children’s Day as Care for Society Network International (CfSNI) officially inaugurated the Yɛn Anidaso Club of Readers (YACoR),a vibrant initiative designed to inspire young minds and strengthen the culture of reading
The event, filled with excitement and purpose, marked a significant milestone in CfSNI’s mission to empower children through literacy. Addressing the pupils, the Executive Director explained the meaning behind YACoR, which translates to “Our Hope.” She shared that the club was created to give children a safe and inspiring space to explore ideas, develop curiosity, and strengthen their reading abilities.
According to her, children across Ghana do not lack intelligence or ambition, but often lack opportunities. She described books as “windows into new worlds,” powerful tools that ignite imagination, sharpen critical thinking, and help children shape their own future. She encouraged the pupils to commit to reading and use the club as a stepping stone toward becoming the best versions of themselves.
The Headmistress of the school, Madam Sally Esinam Kudiabor, expressed heartfelt gratitude. She noted that as the world reflected on the rights and future of children, programs like YACoR ensure that learners are not only seen and heard but also given the tools they need to grow. “Literacy, mentorship, and empowerment are the foundation of possibility,” she affirmed.
Also present was Mr. Kofi Dodoo, Deputy Director and Basic Schools Coordinator, who applauded CfSNI for supporting government efforts to uplift basic education. He urged pupils to take their studies seriously and make full use of the materials provided, reminding them that school is a place to “learn and achieve.”

The celebration featured interactive reading sessions, fun games, and the official presentation of 200 reading and learning materials to the school. These resources will support the club’s operations and enrich the learning experience of the pupils.
Yɛn Anidaso Clubs of Readers remains one of CfSNI’s flagship literacy projects, currently supporting reading clubs across rural and peri-urban communities. With over 2,000 learning materials distributed this year alone, the organization continues to nurture a strong reading culture, improve comprehension, and encourage children to dream beyond their circumstances.
Guided by global goals such as SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), Care for Society Network International reaffirmed its commitment to empowering children, strengthening communities, and building a brighter future through education.
