Madam Beauty Emefa Narteh, Executive Secretary of the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), has emphasized the need for citizens to fully understand and support the work of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) as part of Ghana’s fight against corruption.

Speaking at a community engagement program, Madam Narteh explained that the OSP was established to investigate and prosecute corruption-related offenses across all sectors, public, private, and even legally registered companies operating within the country. She stressed that the existence of the OSP is a major step toward accountability, but its effectiveness depends heavily on public cooperation.
According to her, GACC is undertaking a nationwide awareness campaign across all 60 districts to educate citizens on why the OSP was created and how it functions. The goal, she noted, is to help the public appreciate the OSP’s mandate, understand their own role in combating corruption, and become active partners in promoting transparency.

“We cannot expect things to change if citizens are not ready to help the Special Prosecutor,” she said. “The fight against corruption requires collective responsibility, from reporting wrongdoing to supporting lawful investigations.”

The campaign forms part of Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC’s) broader mission to empower communities, promote good governance, and ensure that every Ghanaian understands the value of integrity and accountability in national development.
