The Chief of Akyem Akwadum, Barima Pobi Asomaning II, has extended warm Christmas goodwill messages to Ghanaians, with special greetings to the Overlord of Akyem Abuakwa, His Royal Majesty Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, as the year draws to a close.
Speaking on Radio 1, 100.7 FM, during a morning program dubbed “Oman mu Nsem,” hosted by Nana Kwabena Addo, the Chief expressed profound gratitude to God and to the people of Akyem Akwadum in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region for their unwavering support throughout the year. In his Christmas message, Barima Pobi Asomaning II cautioned the youth to be circumspect in their activities before, during, and after the festive season. He urged young people to remain vigilant, particularly in their eating and drinking habits, and to moderate their excitement to avoid reckless motorbike riding and careless driving.
The Chief further advised drivers to desist from over-speeding, overloading, and driving under the influence of alcohol. He stressed the importance of repairing faulty vehicles before putting them on the road and appealed to vehicle owners to stop pressuring drivers to rush for financial gains, noting that such actions often lead to avoidable road accidents during festive periods.
Additionally, Barima Pobi Asomaning II encouraged Ghanaians to be cautious when purchasing food and other consumables from the market, advising them to check expiry dates to prevent food-related illnesses during and after the Christmas celebrations. He assured residents of Akyem Akwadum of good health and prosperity in the coming year, expressing optimism that, with God’s guidance and the continued support of the people, the community would witness more development in 2026.
