Kibi, Eastern Region – Hon. Kingsley, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, has shared key priorities and perspectives on development, social challenges, and national political issues in recent statements.

Healthcare Infrastructure
Hon. Kingsley announced that construction of nurses’ quarters in Kibi is set to commence next year. The project is aimed at boosting healthcare delivery and supporting health professionals in the constituency.

Drug Addiction and Rehabilitation
Addressing social concerns, the MP emphasized the need for rehabilitation programs for drug addicts, noting that incarceration alone may worsen their condition and lifestyle rather than address underlying issues. “A lot of drug addicts need to be rehabilitated; their lifestyle will deteriorate if they face jail terms,” he stated.

Education as a Priority
Education remains a central focus for Hon. Kingsley. He expressed his commitment to enhancing educational opportunities in his constituency, remarking, “Education is my priority; I will sell the gods of my people to boost it, if I have to.”

National Politics and Party Loyalty
On political matters, Hon. Kingsley suggested that the NDC government should show appreciation to its members by facilitating their attendance at the 2026 World Cup. He also expressed hope that President Mahama would leave a lasting legacy, stating, “God should bless President Mahama to live a great legacy behind.” Furthermore, he encouraged some NDC members to reconsider their political alignment and consider joining the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Reflecting on Galamsey Fight
Commenting on illegal mining, the MP acknowledged collective responsibility, saying, “We have all failed in the fight against galamsey as citizens.”
