The new leadership of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening agricultural education with a pledge to provide infrastructure development and vital resources to Bunso Cocoa College.

The Board Chairman, Hon. Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, made this assurance ahead of the College’s 75th anniversary celebrations and its 3rd graduation ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, 18th December. According to Hon. Dr. Ofosu Ampofo, Bunso Cocoa College has played a pivotal role in the development of Ghana’s cocoa sector by training skilled professionals who continue to contribute significantly to the growth and sustainability of the industry. He noted that supporting the College aligns with COCOBOD’s broader vision of strengthening human capacity and modernizing cocoa production in the country.

He emphasized that the new Ghana Cocoa Board is determined to invest in modern infrastructure, teaching and learning resources, and other logistical support to enhance academic work and practical training at the institution. This, he said, will ensure that graduates are well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of the cocoa industry. The 75th anniversary celebration marks a major milestone in the history of Bunso Cocoa College, highlighting decades of dedication to excellence in cocoa education and research. The event, combined with the graduation ceremony, is expected to bring together government officials, COCOBOD management, traditional leaders, alumni, staff, students, and other stakeholders in the cocoa sector.

As Bunso Cocoa College reflects on its achievements over the past 75 years, the renewed commitment from the Ghana Cocoa Board signals a promising future for the institution and reinforces its strategic importance to Ghana’s cocoa economy.
