Akyem Dwenase Queenmother Celebrates 3rd Enstoolment Anniversary and Birthday with Children

Akyem Dwenase was filled with joy and celebration as the Queenmother of the community, Nana Appea Sarponaa Kumankuma, marked her third anniversary on the stool alongside her birthday with a special event dedicated to children.

The colourful ceremony drew traditional authorities, residents, parents and well-wishers who gathered to honour the Queenmother’s three years of service since her enstoolment. As part of the celebration, Her Royal Highness shared a meal with the children and presented assorted gifts to commemorate the occasion.

Items distributed included packs of cooked rice, biscuits, assorted drinks, hampers, baby wipes, coffee and diapers. The atmosphere was vibrant as the children sang “Happy Birthday” and offered prayers for the Queenmother, wishing her long life, wisdom and strength in her leadership.

Addressing the gathering, Nana Appea Sarponaa Kumankuma expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Akyem Dwenase for their steadfast support before, during and after her enstoolment.

She acknowledged that her ascension to the throne was met with challenges and misunderstandings, describing the journey as demanding but ultimately rewarding through faith and perseverance.

The Queenmother extended special thanks to the Chief of Akyem Dwenase, fellow traditional leaders, parents, friends and the broader community for their guidance, prayers and encouragement throughout her reign.
Call for Unity and Women Empowerment
Her Royal Highness used the occasion to renew her appeal for unity within the community.

She underscored her commitment to championing women’s empowerment and community development, urging residents to continue supporting initiatives aimed at uplifting the vulnerable and advancing local progress.

Development Initiatives
Over the past three years, the Queenmother has spearheaded several social interventions, including: Donations to hospitals, Skills training programmes for women, Youth mentorship initiatives, Vocational support for girls.

Her efforts in social development have earned her admiration both within Akyem Dwenase and beyond.

The event served not only as a birthday celebration but also as a testament to leadership grounded in compassion, resilience and service. As Nana Appea Sarponaa Kumankuma marks three years on the throne, residents remain optimistic about sustained growth and unity under her stewardship.
