The Assembly Member for Akyem Adukrom, Hon. Anderson Addo, popularly known as Drogba, has raised concerns over the activities of alleged Fulani herdsmen in the area, accusing them of allowing their cattle to destroy farms and threaten local food production.
In an interview with Radio1 100.7FM, Hon. Addo stated that when cattle rearing activities first began in the community, the herdsmen met with local leaders and reportedly indicated that the animals belonged to former President Nana Akufo-Addo. He said residents were assured that the cattle would be properly managed and prevented from straying into farms.
However, according to the Assembly Member, the situation has since worsened, with cattle frequently invading farmlands and destroying crops, leading to significant losses for farmers. He noted that the development has created fear among residents, with some farmers reportedly hesitant to visit their farms due to concerns about potential confrontations with the herdsmen.
Hon. Addo disclosed that he has petitioned the appropriate authorities to intervene but claims that no decisive action has been taken. He cautioned that if urgent steps are not implemented to address the matter, the community may be compelled to stage a demonstration to demand swift intervention.

He further warned that the continued destruction of farms could contribute to rising food prices and pose a serious threat to food security in the area if left unresolved.
The Assembly Member has therefore appealed to the government, security agencies, traditional authorities, clergy, and opinion leaders to intervene promptly to prevent possible clashes and restore calm in the community.
