Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo Donates Ultramodern Pulpit in Memory of Late Mother at Akyem Adukrom

Dr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Board Chairman of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) and Adviser to the Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has unveiled an ultramodern pulpit constructed in memory of his late mother, Mary Gyawubea Badu, at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Akyem Adukrom.


The brief but significant ceremony, held on February 15, 2026, brought together family members, church leaders, traditional authorities, dignitaries, media representatives and well-wishers. The event marked the formal handover of the newly constructed pulpit to the church.

Dr Ofosu-Ampofo explained that the gesture was in honour of his late mother’s enduring legacy. He described her as a devoted Christian whose faith and dedication significantly contributed to the growth and development of the church. He noted that undertaking the project was both a personal tribute and a spiritual responsibility.


He further reaffirmed his family’s commitment to supporting the church and announced plans to assist in completing the church’s ceiling and providing projectors to enhance worship services, as part of efforts to sustain his late mother’s legacy of service.

Receiving the pulpit on behalf of the church, the Chairman, Rev. Seth Kofi Asare Danso, expressed profound appreciation to Dr Ofosu-Ampofo and his family for their generosity and longstanding support. He acknowledged their previous contributions, including assistance towards the roofing of the church building, and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon them.


Among the dignitaries present were the Eastern Regional Council of State representative, Evelyn Korang; the Abuakwa South Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Addo Aikins Junior; Hon. Samuel Tettey, Ningo-Prampram NDC Chairman; Mr Bright, Chief Executive Officer of Peters Furniture; Hon. Ernest Anderson, Assemblyman for Akyem Adukrom; and Mr Selasie, Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of SIC Life Insurance Ltd, as well as traditional leaders, clergy, guests from abroad and members of the media.

Family and friends, led by Dr Ofosu-Ampofo, also donated GH₵64,000 towards the church’s development.

Dr Ofosu-Ampofo is the Chief Executive Officer of Universal Multimedia Ltd, operators of Radio1 100.7FM and Ahotor FM 92.3FM.
