The retreat also created space for candid discussions on operational challenges, resource constraints, and opportunities to strengthen governance and service delivery within the sector. The National Premix Fuel Secretariat briefed participants on premix fuel management and distribution, highlighting progress made and measures being implemented to enhance transparency and efficiency for the benefit of artisanal fishing communities.

An open forum allowed participants to share insights and propose practical solutions, culminating in a clear roadmap with agreed priorities, timelines, and accountability measures for 2026.

In his closing remarks, the Minister reaffirmed Government’s commitment to rebuilding fish stocks, expanding aquaculture production, strengthening livelihoods, and ensuring the sustainable management of Ghana’s fisheries resources.
