Leaders of unemployed graduates with disabilities have engaged the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, over employment challenges facing persons with disabilities in Ghana.

The delegation, led by Mr. Gilbert Agyare, described graduate unemployment among persons with disabilities as a long-standing national concern and called for deliberate recruitment measures, including dedicated employment clearances and the effective enforcement of the mandatory five per cent public sector employment quota.

They also appealed for structured employment pathways, noting that open competitive recruitment processes often disadvantage persons with disabilities without tailored support mechanisms.

Welcoming the group, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive engagement and collaboration, noting that the meeting was part of ongoing consultations with disability associations to address unemployment concerns.
