GIPC Pays Courtesy Call on Asantehene Ahead of Ashanti Regional Investment Forum

The Management and Board of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) have paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi as part of preparations for the Centre’s upcoming Ashanti Regional Investment Forum.


The visit forms part of GIPC’s nationwide Investment Opportunities Mapping Project, aimed at identifying and promoting investment prospects across all regions of Ghana.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the GIPC Board, Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, and included the Centre’s Chief Executive Officer, Simon Madjie, Deputy CEO Abdul Razak Baba, Board Member Mercy Afrowa Needjan, as well as other members of management and staff.
The purpose of the visit was to formally brief the Asantehene on GIPC’s plans to spotlight investment opportunities within the Ashanti Region and to seek his blessings and counsel ahead of the planned forum.

The delegation was received on behalf of the Asantehene by the Paramount Chief of Offinso, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, and the Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, Nana Kofi Badu.

During the engagement, Dr. Opong-Fosu reaffirmed GIPC’s commitment to decentralizing investment promotion and connecting investors with opportunities across the country’s regions. He explained that the upcoming forum will bring together stakeholders, traditional authorities and business leaders to highlight investment prospects in sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, tourism and mining.


Mr. Madjie noted that the forum forms part of the Centre’s broader mission to map and promote investment opportunities across all sixteen regions of Ghana to ensure balanced and sustainable economic development.

Speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II commended GIPC for extending its investment promotion efforts beyond the national capital, describing the initiative as timely and essential for unlocking the economic potential of the Ashanti Region.
