GIPC Signs MoU with GSS to Strengthen National Statistical Collaboration

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has joined 24 other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), aimed at enhancing collaboration within Ghana’s National Statistical System.


The MoU establishes a framework for GIPC to work closely with GSS in producing accurate and reliable official statistics, while promoting a more coordinated, transparent, and data-driven public sector.

This initiative forms part of a broader national effort to improve the management, coordination, and sharing of administrative data across public institutions, ultimately supporting evidence-based policymaking and national development planning.


Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening credible data in public sector decision-making. He noted that harmonized, timely, and reliable statistics are crucial for effective governance and informed policy formulation.

The agreement was formalized during a stakeholder engagement attended by senior government officials, development partners, representatives from academia, and civil society, underscoring the vital role that credible and timely statistics play in national governance and development planning.
