Creating New Regions Will Boost Development – Local Governance Expert

An expert in Local governance and rural development, Dt Eric Osae has said the creation of the 6 new regions which are in the pipeline will help develop the regions and the nation as a whole in the shortest possible time.

According to him he’s surprised some citizen of the nation are against such move from the government.

He disclosed this to the host of Susubiribi Morning Show on Radio 1FM, Captain Kofi Wusu, on Thursday November 29 2018 when reacting to the Supreme Court’s decision to quash the suit filed by some citizens as against the upcoming referendum with regards to the creation of the new regions.

According to him, he fully endorses the decision since it was open and the activities of the Commission of Enquiry was very open to all citizens and the stakeholders that mattered most.

He went on to say that the Constitution of Ghana has clearly stipulated that there should be regional balance in developing the nation and people kicking against that might not really understand the background of that decision.

He therefore urged the National Commission for Civic Education to sensitive the general public on the benefits of the New Regions.
