The office of comic actor turned politician Alexander Kofi Adu known as Agya Koo has rubbished the claims that its client has made ill comments about the Krobos.
Some residents of Odumase Krobo in the Eastern region are demonstrating, demanding from the NPP Presidential candidate his position on tribal comments made by a movie star who has endorsed him.
They want Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to denounce comments made by Agya Koo against Krobos whilst playing a role in a movie.
The group said Kofi Adu popularly referred to as ‘Agya Koo’ said Krobo women are a people cursed by a dreaded Akuapem fetish priest to forever remain prostitutes.
With a fiercely contest general election coming up in barely 19 days, the comic actor’s comment in the movie has been elevated to the political stage needing the NPP leader’s attention.
But reacting to the issue, Ernest Atta Aboagye Manager of Agya Koo said the demonstration was fueled by some political elements with the aim of subjecting his client to tribal politics.
Atta Aboagye stated that, the Krobos should stop dragging his client (Agya Koo) into tribal politics.
According to him, his client’s action in the movie was being controlled by a script director. ‘’ The said movie was directed by someone so if they wanted go on demo it should have rather been the directed to the director and the producer of the movie but not the actor in question’’ he added.
