Atebubu shooting: No arrest yet – Police

The Police in Atebubu/Amantin in the Brong Ahafo region say no arrest has been made yet regarding the shooting incident on the Atebubu—Kumasi Highway.

A prison officer was shot and killed while another was fatally injured when suspected robbers accosted their vehicle on the Highway Sunday.

The armed robbers took away two service uniforms and a gun from their victims who were traveling with their ununiformed senior officers.

Speaking Tuesday March 7, 2017 to Accra-based Citi FM, the Atebubu District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Joseph Atsu Gyenanku said there was no arrest yet, but they are working assiduously to arrest the culprits.

“We are doing our ground works and some names crop up so we are working on those names…so far no arrest was made yet,” he stated.
