I WILL CAMPAIGN FOR NANA ADDO IF MAHAMA IS NOT 2020 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE – NDC YOUTH ORGANIZER

While the National Democratic Congress [NDC] awaits the final report from the 13 – member fact finding committee chaired by Prof. Kwesi Botwe as what really caused the heavy defeat of the party in the 2016 general elections, a section of the party members have started lobbying for who becomes the next presidential candidate of the party for 2020 general elections.

Joining the bout is the NDC Youth Organizer for Nkawkaw Constitueny, Williams Darlas who has sent a strong word of caution to whoever has the intention of leading the party into 2020 election apart from the former president, John Dramani Mahama. He said it was due to those elements in the party that caused their defeat in the just ended elections.

He made the comment to the media in response the statement made by Mr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah describing the NDC as a broken car. The former Trade and Industry Minister under Mahama administration said the NDC party is faced with leadership crisis and needs to be restructured with strong and good leaders to win 2020 elections.

However, Mr. Darlas described Spio as a traitor and saboteur and should not dare think of any presidential ambition. He said during 2016 electioneering campaign there were some people in Spio’s paraphernalia going round campaigning for him for his 2020 presidential ambition.

“Can you imagine that while we were vigorously campaigning for John Mahama to win the 2016 presidential election, there were some people in V8 cars also campaigning for Spio – Garbrah for agenda 2020” he lamented.

“I will not support such a person with parochial interest to lead our party so I will campaign for Nana Addo if John Mahama does not become the presidential candidate for NDC for 2020 elections” he further stated.

Meanwhile some leading members of the party names have surfaced in the media for the presidential slot of the party including Sylvester Mensah, former NHIA boss, Awuah Darko, former TOR boss and Ekow Spio-Garbrah, former Trade and Industry Minister.
