Renovation was done before I resumed office-Peter Amewu.

The minister of land and natural resources, Hon. John Peter Amewu, has alleged that renovation was not done before he resumed office as the minister about six months ago.

According to him , for almost seven months now he resumed office renovation hasn’t been done and it was not done before he resumed office as the minister, so it is could be that what the former minister of land and natural resources, Hon. Inusah Fuseni is saying, he is the one responsible for the alleged recording device would be true.

Speaking on Radio 1 breakfast show dubbed  “Susubiribi” with host  Captain Kofi Owusu, Hon. John Peter Amewu said ”renovation was not done before I resumed office this year and about six to seven months now and it hasn’t been done, hence the national security move to revived the place which resulted in the finding out of the audiovisual recording device.” he stated.

When asked whether what the former minister is saying that he was the one who installed the device there, Mr. John Peter Amewu said, it could be the allegation by the former minister is true.  “well I  can’t tell but it could be what he is saying is true” he stressed.

Mr. Peter Amewu also commended, the government moves and speech when he meet with the chiefs in Accra in which he charged them to help fight against illegal mining known as galamsey.

According to him, the Chiefs are the custodians of the land, and they must play the key role to the fight against galamsey before government moves would be successful.
