Chinese ambassador donates to Okyehene.

Chinese ambassador to Ghana H.E Madam Sun. Baohong and the president of China Traders Chamber of commerce in Ghana, Mr. Zheng Shengli, has donated an awesome necessities of livelihood to the Akyem Abuakwah Traditional Council in the Eastern region.

The items includes; 150 nap- sack spraying machines, 150 pairs of wellington boots, 200 cutlass from the Chinese Embassy in Ghana and 50 bags of rice, 40 Cargoes of Spaghetti, 30 Cargoes of oil, 20 Cargoes of Sardines, 20 Cargoes of Tuna Chunks, 20 Cargoes of corned beef, 2020 pairs of shoes, 250 sets of school bags with stationery, 50 footballs, 200 pieces of blankets, 2400 pieces of underwear and 4680 pairs of socks from China Traders Chamber of commerce in Ghana.

Speaking at the donation ceremony, Madam Sun Baohong stated that, ”though the items are limited in number, the goods represent the profound friendship held by the Chinese people towards the Ghanaian people. I hope they will improve the farming and living conditions for the local people.” she lamented.

According to her, China and Ghana enjoy a long history of friendship, which was forged by Ghana’s founding father Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and chairman Mao Zedong, Premier Zhou Enlai and other Chinese first generation leaders.

She highlighted  some achievement of the Chinese government through the friendship relation between China and Ghana for the past 57 years  ago. She said Chinese  government has been actively supporting Ghana’s economic development and social progress by donating more than 40 batches of goods and building a series of projects, including the National Theatre, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign and Regional Integration, 5 Primary Schools, 2 Hospitals, Barracks, Roads, Student Dormitories, Street Lamps, Kumasi youth Centre, Accra vocational and technical school, university of health and allied science in HO,  Cape Coast Sports Stadium, 1,000 Borehole Projects and so forth.

Madam Sun Baohong added that,  Projects invested and financed by China including the Bui Dam, Kpong Water Supply Project, Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, National Communication Network, National security Monitoring Platform, African World Airlines, Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) ltd, WYNCA Sunshine, Sentuo Steel Limited, Senda International have made great contribution to Ghana’s Industrial and Agricultural modernization.

The Chinese Ambassador reiterated that, over the past 7 months, she have attended ten handover ceremonies of donation of goods from the Chinese government or the Chinese Embassy. The Chinese side donated computers, desks and chairs, office appliances, agricultural processing equipment, and the goods for addressing climate change including inverter air-conditioners, solar photovoltaic power generation systems, and LED solar street light in early June.
