The Executive secretary of the Ghana Palm Oil Producers Association and the Incoming Eastern regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic party NPP, Mr. Paul Amaning has stated that, the contract awarded by his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo to the company to supply palm oil for the newly free senior high school [S.H.S] Students across the country is for a period of only one year.
According to him, the contract awarded was for only 2017/ 2018 academic year students and about 90,000 gallons of palm oil is expected within the year, to be supply for the 670 Senior High Schools across the country.
Speaking on Radio 1 Breakfast Show ‘’Susubribi’’ with the host Captain Kofi Owusu Mr. Paul Amaning said the main aim of the Ghana Palm Oil Producers Association is to regulate the system under which the palm oil is been produce and distributed to the various schools in order to ensure a Sudan free palm oil production.
”30,000 gallons of palm oil will be needed per term and with the three terms requires about 90,000 gallons and the company will ensure it is been produced within that period,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Mr. Paul Amaning reiterated that 60 percent of schools in the Greater Accra have received their palm oil and the next region will be Eastern, Ashanti and the other regions.
He applaud the government for awarding such contract to the company.
Also the National Chairman of the Ghana Palm Oil Producers Association, Mr. Wise added that, government have provide the necessary things in place to function the activities of the company and the company will ensure proper sustainability.
”Government have provide the necessary things needed to regulate the association and the company will ensure proper delivery,” he said.
