Asamoah Gyan has acquired license to operate ‘Baby Jet’ airlines

The name of the company is rumored to be ‘Baby Jet’ Airlines. According to a Citifmonline.com report, the news of Asamoah Gyan’s license approval was disclosed by President Nana Akufo-Addo, at the opening ceremony of African Air Expo at the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday.

The airline which is expected to commence operations soon, is yet to be classified as a domestic, regional or international airline company.

The government had earlier announced plans to expand Ghana’s local airline industry, which will allow for more industry investments and bring in healthy competition for the market.

This plan included the 17.5% tax cut on domestic airline tickets as indicated in the government’s 2017 budget.

As part of his address, Akufo-Addo also noted that he is determined to make Ghana an aviation hub within the West African sub region. Asamoah Gyan is striker for the Black Stars and Kayserispor in Turkey.
