Delay of Public workers salaries show that NPP is incompetence – Baba Jamal

Former Member of Parliament for Akwetia, Lawyer Baba Jamal has criticized Nana Addo administration over the delay of salaries for public sector workers in the country describing the NPP as incompetence administration to manage the affairs of the country.

According to him, due to inefficient fiscal management, they’ve hid behind several excuses to enable them borrow money to pay the workers.

Speaking to Radio 1 Breakfast Show ‘Sususbiribi’ with Captain Kofi Owusu he accused the government for poor revenue performance due to lack of innovation in revenue mobilization.

‘’The current NPP administration is suffering and battling with the ill economy which they use to boost to Ghanaians that they are economic expert especially Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia during the 2016 election campaign, telling Ghanaians that there is money in Ghana and he don’t know the reason why NDC has been mismanaging the affairs of the country, accusing the NDC gov’t where and there. Why is it that they can’t pay public workers? The expert, where is Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia? John Dramani Mahama was tagged as incompetent President but we did not borrow to pay public worker during our time.’’ he stated.

He further explained that, the release of the paltry GH200 million for the free senior high programmed is the main factor for the government battling with the payment of public workers. He opined that the NPP propaganda when they are in the opposition clearly shows that, the government is incompetent and not capable of managing the affairs.

Mr. Baba Jamal referred the President as ‘Kwaku burger’, reason been that the president doesn’t stay in the country, he rather like travelling than to be in the country to listen to the plight of Ghanaians, while he also referred Bawumia as ‘Borrowmia’ because he like borrowing and he will not be surprise that Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia can borrow to pay the public workers.

‘’Borrowing is their habit,’’ he stressed.

The former Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations expressed the government inability to generate revenue to pay workers.

Meanwhile, the former MP for Akwetia revealed that, his checks indicates that the finance ministry has stopped controller and accountant General from processing salaries to public workers.

‘’It is about time Ghanaian will differentiate Mahama Administration (NDC) and the current administration by Nana Akufo- Addo, the reality is even yet to come, what we are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg as the country is now retrogressing,’’ he concluded.
