An aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for the Yilo Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Hon. Michael Ologo, has opined that the President, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is totally confused in his administration.
Speaking to the Press, Hon. Ologo said, “The President is endemically confused, how can you sack a non performing sector minister in the person of Boakye Agyarko from the Energy ministry and bring in John Peter Amewu, under whose watch dozens of able men and women are languishing in abject poverty due to how he handled the galamsey issues, the NPP indeed has not got the men to execute Ghana’s developmental drive but when we constructively criticized them they referred to us as Naysayers”
This outburst comes a day after President Akufo Addo relieved the Energy minister Boakye Agyarko of his Position as the Energy Minister following the unsatisfactory and disdained decision he took during the renegotiated AMERI pact some few weeks ago which have since been greeted with incessant backlashes both within the ruling government, the New Patriotic Party, NPP, stakeholders in the energy sector as well as the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The parliamentary hopeful jabbed President Akufo Addo over his refusal early on to crack the whip of the energy minister and his henchmen who supervised such a sham and disgraceful act by the extension of the deal with over bloated and inflated figures which have since received a barrage of criticisms by well-meaning Ghanaians.
He reiterated that, the President’s inability to immediately relinquish the minister from his post since the inception of the AMERI rage, suggested that he was totally confused and had to engage in a knee- jerk approach before finally sacking Mr. Boakye Agyarko.
He still could not fathom that prior to 2016 election, Akuffo – Addo led Government inculcated in the minds of the Citizens that they had all the men to execute their missions so why bring in an the lands minister to act? “Didn’t the NPP in 2016 said they have the men? And where have the men gone such that there is no body to occupy that seat in acting capacity than John Peter Amewu”? He quizzed
However, Mr. Ologo, pleaded with the Clergy, Civil Organisations and opinion Leaders in the Country to Speak on the issue for Akuffo Addo is speedily drawing Ghana back.
The Energy Minister, Hon. Boakye Agyako was relieved of his post on the Monday evening. Though the letter from the Presidency does not specify the reasons behind him been relinquished.
