I Support Mahama – Eastern Regional Secretary

The Eastern Regional Secretary for the Opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr Mark Oliver-Kevor has let the cat out the bag; he says even as he is an Executive he is highly in support of Former President John Mahama’s bid to become the flagbearer of their party.

He made this revelation on  the Susubiribi Morning Show on Radio1FM, 100.7MHZ when the host, Captain Kofi Owusu asked him why a majority of the executives in the party didn’t show up to meet Alban Bagbin.

Though he said he is for Mahama but that wasn’t the yardstick for boycotting the meeting with Hon. Alban Bagbin on his visit to the Region. He said it wasn’t intentional to boycott it but due to one or two reasons and time factor, he couldn’t show up.

According to the Eastern Regional Secretary, per their constitution, everyone has the right to contest for the flagbearership and of course equal rights to the members to choose whom to support so there were Representation from the executives to meet Bagbin.

Mr Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin the former majority leader and second deputy speaker of Parliament as part of his campaign tour to the regions made it to Eastern Region but to his amazement, just a handful of regions executives turned out to meet him. So far about 13 aspirants have shown up to contest for the position but a majority have tipped former President Mahama as the favorite.

However, it is rumored that 5 aspirants have gang up to defeat Mahama in the December polls.
