A man believed to be in his 40’s was caught red handed for Trading Marijuana aka ‘Wee’ at Anyinam in the Eastern Region.
Acoording to Hon. Enoch Kofi Boateng, Asemblyman for Akyem Banso – Apampatia electoral area in the Atiwa West District, smoking weed and trading in it has been the norm for residents in Akyem Banso in the said District and steps are taken to reduce that habit even if they cannot totally erase all.
Information available to Radio 1 News says this Man whose name is withheld due to ongoing investigation is believed to be a krobo but reside in Koforidua. In his attempt to do his normal trading at Akyem Banso, there was a tip off. So Hon. Enoch Kofi Boateng, Asemblyman for Akyem Banso – Apampatia electoral area with the help of community security taskforce called Banso Taskforce Committee on Monday 29th Oct. 2019 upon that tipoff arrested the Wee businessman.
The Suspect is in the custody of Atiwa West District Police Station at Kwabeng.
It therefore emerged that about 20 blocks of wee nicely packaged were in possession of the Suspect.
However, the Assembly Member is of the convection that with the help of the Police and the Traditional rulers, they can get to the root of the matter and to sanction the suspect if found culpable to serve as a deterent to the youth in the community.
