Video: Forget Mahama, NDC Was Weak, Not Vigilant At The Polling Stations In 2016 Elections – Alhaji Opass

The eastern regional NaBCo Coordinator and regional deputy communication director for the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP who is also first vice chairman for the constituents of Akyem Abuakwa North in the eastern region for the same party has waded into the controversy surrounding the authenticity of winning the 2016 general election as former president John Dramani Mahama alleges the ruling party, rigged the elections, other than that they wouldn’t have been in power by now.

According to Alhaji Opass, he is surprised the former president spewed those words and argued that what the former president said is not true but they lost the election because the polling stations were not motivated and the party members were no vigilant and other contributing factors led to the defeat of NDC.

In a studio discussion on the susubiribi morning show on Radio 1FM, 100.7MHZ on Monday May 13 2019, Alhaji Opass revealed to the host Nana Kwabena Addo Papabi that NPP won the election from the polling station since in 2012 the competent court of jurisdiction made them aware.

“We became very vigilant at the polling station. How we motivated our members are part of the ways we used . Why do you think foul for Kennedy Agyapong’s statement? He said many ways, and you thought of only rigging the election,” Alhaji opined.

He was resolute on his defense and added that if the party that lost over 70 seats at the parliamentary level, accepted the results but now comes back to say they rigged the election, then they (NDC) are weak especially that they were in power at that time.

Moreover, Alhaji Opass said if this party wants to regain power, then there is nothing they can offer the nation. He said elections in Ghana are won at the polling stations.

Former president John Dramani Mahama has revealed that in 2016 elections, the ruling NPP used technology, particularly IT to rig the election at the polling stations in that they wouldn’t sit aloof and watch NPP do same in 2020 elections. He again asked the ruling party to be on th electoral commissioner to gazzette the 2016 elections.
