Sad News: Driver Drowns In River During Fishing In The Eastern Region

A resident of Akyem Nsutam in the fanteakwa South District in the Eastern region, Kwame Boamah Peter known by the citizenry as a driver has today 29th April 2020 drowned in a famous river in the town when he went fishing.

Kwame Boaheng, a very energetic man had a wicker work trap placed in Supon (i.e. the name of the river) to catch fishes that may come its way. On the early hours of Wednesday morning, April 29 2020. Kwame Boaheng went on his routine check on his trap when he met his untimely death.

In an interview with an eyewitness, he disclosed that though they saw the man in the river and thought he was bathing. Little did they know that he was struggling to survive because the river has not overflowed. Others also believed there was a mining pit he not aware and that trapped him.

The traditional authorities have performed their rituals and the body is retrieved from the river.
