A respected educationist, former rector of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Professor Stephen Adei who doubles as the chairperson of the National Development Planning Commission has advised that measures be put in place to reopen school for only final year students to go.

According the the experienced educationist, the deadly coronavirus pandemic has come to stay and the nation can not forgo education and therefore calls on government and the advisers to come to a conclusion that only final year students must go back to school.

In a phone interview on Adekye Nsoroma On UTV on Friday May 29 2020, he disclosed that he in person does not have a panacea to the current situation rather suggests to opinion leaders to lay down measures to continue education.

“I am not a doctor but i can say the virus has come to stay and that does not mean education should end. I suggest that government reopens schools for the final year students so they can study and after their exams, the next session goes back. The system now is different because how you will treat students in Accra is different from the way to handle those in the villages.”- Prof. Advises
