Fanteakwa South: Saamang KIA Green Light Health Center Receives Donation Of PPEs Worth ₵ 134,000 From World Vision With Support From KIA Motors

As part of KIA Green Light project, Saamang Greenlight Health Center in the fanteakwa South district in the eastern region has today benefitted from the with essentials necessary to fight the deadly coronavirus pandemic even as the district has not recorded any confirmed case.

Th reputable non- governmental organization, World Vision Ghana with support from KIA motors, Korean business company have today 21st May 2020, donated several Personal Protection Equipments also known as PPEs to KIA Green Light Health Center, a health facility funded and built by this same company at Akyem Saamang in the Fanteakwa South District in the eastern region.

It is revealed that the host of the personal protection equipments cost ₵134,000, equivalent to USD 24,209.

The donation was done through world vision Ghana as a facilitator since the onset of the enviable program.

The items donated include but not limited to; Masks, high-fil., FFP2/N-95, no-valve, none sterile / surgical mask, coverall protection, Cat III, type 6b, M, L, XL, carbolic soap, Gloves, Hand Sanitisers, among other essentials.

In a speech delivered by the southern operations manager for world vision Ghana on behalf of their national Chairman, Dickens Thunde, he acknowledged the efforts of KIA motors in mitigating the effects of the deadly coronavirus pandemic and also appealed to government for tax exemptions on gift-in-kind items.

“World Vision Ghana would like to take this opportunity to call on the government of Ghana, through the ministry of health and Ghana health service to grant us tax exemption on Gift-in-kind items we receive from our donors in complimenting government’s efforts to providing quality health care” – Dickens Tunde opined.

According to him that would motivate their partners and donors overseas to commit more resources in bringing related and needy items necessary in the fight for quality health care.

The items were received by the eastern regional health directorate and handed over to the district assembly, led by the DCE, Hon. Kwasi Ntori Adjabeng.

Hon. Ntori Adjabeng expressed gratitude and handed them over to the district health directorate led by Mr Atuahene Agyemang who assured them they would put to good use to accomplish the mission behind the donation but like Oliver Twist, always asks for more.

Present were representatives from the eastern regional health directorate, Fanteakwa south health directorate, Fanteakwa south district assembly, World Vision Ghana, traditional leaders of Saamang community including the assembly member.

World vision Ghana is noted for assisting the poor and needy in all angles of development.

Ghana has so far surpassed 6,000 confirmed cases with eastern region recording 106 cases even though Fanteakwa south has recorded none.
