The controversial member of parliament for Assin Central on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, who doubles as a business mogul has surprisingly revealed that it’s only the fool who makes money and then chooses to venture into farming adding that farming is for the poor.
The Assin Central lawmaker posited that the number of successful farmers in Ghana are very minute and cannot be accounted for.
In a one-on-one interview with the successful politician and business man, he revealed that “If you make money in Accra and you tell me you are going to farm, you are a fool. People have chosen to be farmers, let them do it but if you educate yourself, get a job, you can even do processing but not going into farming.”
The business mogul mentioned some farmers who were rich and became poor and numerous farms which have collapsed. “There were Coronko pineapple, Safo pineapple, all of them have collapsed. All of them were in large scale” – hon. Ken. Agyapong added.

Hon. Ken Agyapong who seemed not perturbed by the aftermath reaction of his opinion vehemently said, “let them say anything but it is the genuine thing i am telling you but going into farming is praying to God to be poor and you will be poor. How many farmers are successful? Give me one.” – Hon. Ken Agyapong posited.
