Official: Kwahu Music Awards 2020 Finally Launched!

As efforts to appreciate, promote and motivate the hardworking industrial players in the entertainment industry in the Kwahu enclave, Advantage multimedia has successfully launched Kwahu Music awards 2020 to provide the platform to appreciate the hardworking in the industry.

The award covers Industry personalities such as Artistes, Disc Jokeys, Sound Engineers, Song Writers and Producers in the Kwahu blog.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Isaac Siaw, CEO of Advantage Multimedia who is a native of Kwahu said there are a lot of men and women in the Kwahu lands who have done very well in their music carrier and have contributed their quota to the Ghana music industry as a whole but there has not been any award scheme to recognize and honour those individuals, hence his entity`s decision to initiate this annual award scheme to push the arts in Kwahu and also encourage the up and coming ones that their good works will be recognized one day.

Mr Siaw was hopeful that those who will be given the recognition and award at home (Kwahu) will be motivated to put in more effort to eventually make us proud on the national and or the international scene one day since that has been a routine in the industry.

“As we all know, a nation that does not honour its heroes is not worth dying for, and therefore we must honour the living music industry heroes we have here for their selfless efforts to put us on the map of the country, I urge all Kwahu people living home and elsewhere as well as all Ghanaians to embrace this initiative and support it in their own small way to show love to our music industry players” Mr. Siaw Said.

The organizing committee assured that they will ensure fairness and transparency in all the processes in order to make the scheme credible and attractive.

Chairman for the committee indicated that the award scheme is designed to appreciate all forms of Kwahu Made Music and has come to stay, therefore they deem it a privilege to steer the affairs of its maiden edition and they have the willingness to do it conscientiously.

They announce the categories which are twenty-five (25) in all as follows:  Kwahu Artiste of the year, Gospel Artiste of the year, Gospel Song of the year, Afro-pop song of the year, High life song of the year, Dance Hall song of the year, Dance Hall Act of the year, Hip-pop song of the year, Best Rapper of the year,  News Artiste of the year, Most Popular Song of the year, Best Choral Group of the year, Best Media House of the Year, Best Producer of the year, Song Writer of the year, Hip Life Song of the year, Best DJ of the Year, Best Music Video of the year, Best Photography group of the year, Instrumentalist of the year, Record of the year, Best Engineer of the year Non Kwahu song of the year and Non Kwahu Artiste of the year.

Filing of nominations and unveiling of nominees/award have been done successfully, the organizers are expected to announce the voting processes and date for the main events soon. 

The scheme is an initiative of Advantage Multimedia, a legally registered event organizing entity based in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
