The minister of youth and sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has revealed that he accords the former coach of Black stars the maximum respect and there are plans in place to fully pay him the arrears he is demanding for.
Speaking at the press conference today to lay before the public the guidelines by his ministry in the Covid-19 pandemic, he reiterated how the ministry through Ghana Football Association contacted the former black stars captain cum coach for the job.
“We have nothing against Kwesi Appiah. We love him, we accord him for his impact in Ghana football in Ghana. Through the GFA, we contacted him and paid him fully in his first three months. Gradually we will pay him all his entitlements” – Hon. Isaac Asiamah said.
The former Black star’s coach Kwesi Appiah is demanding his arrears from the Ghana football Association, failure to pay of which he has pledged to move to the highest court for peaceful judgment.

Background:
Coach Kwesi Appiah a Ghanaian, whose tenure as Ghana coach ended in December, has been vociferous in demanding five months of arrears salary payments and a winning bonus for a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying triumph over Sao Tome and Principe in November. His reign began in May 2017. With his salary believed to be $35,000, the FA and the Sports Ministry must cough up $175,000 to settle him.
