The chairman of the federation of disability organisation, Atiwa East Chapter in the eastern region, Mr Samuel Adasi popularly known as Wofa Sam, appeals to government, Non governmental organisations, the general public and all kind-hearted citizens to as quickly as possible come to their aid in supporting them with personal protective equipments (PPEs) to help them also fight the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
According to him, this virus is of no respecter of persons and for that matter it’s not merciful to the disables. therefore the need for them to also guard against the virus.
He disclosed this in an interview with Radio 1, and said they really need help and anyone touched can help them with alcohol based hand sanitisers, nose masks and liquid soaps. He added that any quantity the donor wishes to donate is acceptable.
However, he used the opportunity to advise his fellow disables to do all they can to in times of this crisis to also protect themselves, comply with the hygiene protocols to help mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
The Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) is a national umbrella organisation of organisations of persons with disabilities in Ghana which was established in 1987. The Federation concerns itself with crosscutting disability issues whilst its member organisations focus on their specific disability needs.
