How Would Barcelona Be Without Messi In This Era Of Football?

One name that runs through the minds of football lovers and fans of Spanish giants FC Barcelona is Lionel Messi based on his impacts in the renowned football team.

There has therefore been speculations about Lionel Messi’s exit from Barcelona after the team was knocked out of the Champions league by the subsequent winners, Bayern Munchen after humialiating them with 8 goals to 2.

If all facts and trending news are through, how then would Barcelona be? This question pops up because the Barcelona team over the years, (i.e. after the departure of the former maestro Ronaldihno) is built around the most skillful player and his exit would by no means mean so well for the team.

The 33-year-old has spent his entire career at Camp Nou, winning the Ballon d’Or on six occasions. He has played for Barcelona for the past 20 years and one can imagine what his exit could bring to the team. Lionel Messi has scored over 700 goals for his club and country, Argentina.

Barcelona playing without Lionel Messi would no more be entertaining as his calibre is not yet raised in the club unlike how he succeeded Ronaldinho.

Of-course, Lionel Messi alone is not Barcelona, but his contribution to winning trophies for the team is evidently clear that his absence would harm the Barcelona team. Although his contract is set to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season, Messi and his legal team believe the clause will allow him to terminate his deal unilaterally.

Though many at Barca hoped Messi’s frustration would cool with time after the Bayern defeat, his decision to leave had already been made and communicated with friends and family members.

The prolific goalscorer and creative playmaker, Messi holds the records for most goals in La Liga (444), a La Liga and European league season (50), most hat-tricks in La Liga (36) and the UEFA Champions League (8), and most assists in La Liga (183), a La Liga and European league season (21) and the Copa América (12).

Who then succeeds Messi at Barcelona? Who becomes the goal scoring machine for Barca? Who rescues Barcelona in times of difficulties? Who does what everyone is eager to see in Barca matches? Then the question, How would Barcelona be without Lionel Messi?
