Market Women, Traders and other merchandisers of Anyinam in the Atiwa East Disrtict in the eastern region are living in fear and calling on the security agencies to act quickly to their rescue.

The reason for their fear is that these market women at Anyinam have received notices from unknown Armed robbers who have planned to rob them.

Speaking with the media, both men and women traders were panicked because this is not the first time such notices have reached them and anytime they received such notices, they are been robbed.

While others are planning to move their goods home or perhaps relocate, some have resorted to hiring watchmen and others to sleep in their stores. Not knowing the exact day and time to carry out the robbery has become a very big challenge for these market women.

“We are living in fear now. We have received notices from armed robbers with an intent to come and rob us but we don’t know when they will come. Whether they will come in the morning, afternoon, evening or dawn, we don’t know. They have robbed us before that is why we are afraid. We need help, please we need help” – Market Woman cries.

Anyinam market serves as the biggest market in the Atiwa and whereas others from Asuom, Takyiman, tumfa, and its environs patronise the market.
