The National Women Organiser for the Opposition National Democratic congress, NDC, Dr Loiusa Hannah Bassiw has descended on the Akufo-Addo led NPP and their Free SHS flagship program.
According to the outspoken and experienced woman politician, the approach by the president H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is using in handling the Free SHS policy is Ghana has no future for the nation’s education.
Speaking on Adekyee Mu Nsem on Ahotor 92.3fm today June 2 2021, Dr Louisa Hannah Bissiw told the host, Citizen Kofi Wusu that it’s not surprising that the president has made intentions to abolish free SHS in the nearest future.
She argued that if Ghanaians and for that matter, the electorate had listened to the former president, John Dramani Mahama and his strategies for education in Ghana, the nation wouldn’t dip with respect to education.
“If Ghanaian had listened to president Mahama when he promised to review the Free SHS policy we wouldn’t have been here. But we got president Akufo-Addo telling us review means terminations. Ghanaians bought into that and now look at where he has taken us to. Akufo-Addo has destroyed education in Ghana and he is preparing to cancel Free SHS.” – Dr Hannah Bissiw expresses.
However, she could not fathom why the president could tell Ghanaians review mean termination.
Moreover, the outspoken female politician said what is happening in Ghana now shows the president has no intent of building the youth for a better future. She however expressed worry on how the generation yet unborn cannot benefit from any policy now.
Dr Hannah Bissiw added that the president is only developing his family and cronies and has no Ghanaian after his family members at heart.
“President Akufo Addo does not respect Ghanaians. If he does, he wouldn’t have told Ghanaians review means termination. He will not send his children and grandchildren to the Free SHS. He doesn’t have Ghanaians at heart” – She maintained.
