We Will Not Run Away From Guns, Enough Is Enough– Ofosu Ampofo

The National chairman for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has revealed that members of NDC, citizens and faithfuls of the party will not succumb to any intimidation or whatsoever from the Akufo- Addo led NPP government.

According to the experienced politician, the power of the people is more powerful than the people in power and called on them to wake up for the posterity sake.

Speaking at this year’ s June 4th Commemoration, first ever without the founder, the late Jerry John Rawlings, the outspoken chairman encouraged the party members to abide by the principles of probity and accountability.

” The time has come to rise up against impunity. The time has come for us to rise up again. Today is June 4th and we must say enough is enough. Today when chiefs get up and they criticize government, moneys are organized to bundle them out of the national house of Chiefs. We will not run away from guns because the power of the people is more powerful than the people in power. So let us galvanise ourselves together. Let us allow this principle of June 4th; Probity, Accountability, Social justice, participation in our governance system. ” – Ofosu Ampofo said.

He added that the NDC party will soon be taking an outreach program to send the party back to the people and he is of the conviction that when the party gets to the people, power will be theirs.

” Very soon the party is undertaking an outreach program. We will be sending the party to the doorsteps of the people. We will be rekindling the people’ s power and we will give this party to the people. When the people have this party, power will be ours. ” – he added.

Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo revealed further that the NDC party will continue to celebrate the June 4th Uprising today and forever and the party will continue to eulogise the founder for his enviable legacy.

” I want to assure you that the NDC will continue to celebrate June 4th because it is the accountability day on the calendar of the party. We will celebrate it today, we will celebrate it tomorrow. We will continue to eulogize H. E. Flt Lt J. J. Rawlings for his rescue mission that has brought the country into the stability that we find ourselves today. June 4th was relevant yesterday, it’ s relevant today and it will be relevant forever and ever” . – Ofosu Ampofo maintained.

He also expressed his concerned on the current fuel hikes and believes drivers are being suppressed.
