The National Chairman for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has revealed that the Nana Akufo-Addo – Bawumia led NPP government has failed the nation and are embarking on sod- cutting spree.
According to the vociferous chairman, despite cutting sod for so many projects, the president and the NPP government does not show any commitment in commencing these projects let alone to talk of their completion.
Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo however, alleged that the proposed site for the Eastern regional hospital where the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo recently cut sod for its commencement is taken over by snakes and rats. He said same of the proposed Trauma site at Enyiresi in the Atiwa East district in the eastern region.
“The government that came through deception is ruling with deception. 88 hospitals you couldn’t build and you are now talking of Agenda 111. I want to tell our senior clergies and moderators that we the NDCs are not against building of Hospitals. We built all regional hospitals and we will never speak against building of hospitals.” – Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo said.
He mentioned some prehospital projects built by the NDC and the ones the NDC started but the NPP government abandoned. He made mention of University of Ghana Medical center, Ridge Hospital, Inter-Betting at Cape Coast, Wa Regional hospital, Wa regional hospital, Sunyani regional hospital, Bolga Regional hospital, Ho regional hospital and upgraded Tamale regional hospital.
“The president is on Sod cutting spree and has abandoned all our projects. He cut sod for building the Eastern regional hospital recently but the proposed site has been taken over by Snakes and rats. He also promised the people of Enyiresi in the Atiwa East District but the same thing is happening there after his big ceremony during the sod-cutting. He has abandoned all our projects and embarking of sod-cutting spree.” – Ofosu Ampofo added.
The national chairman of NDC, Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo challenged the president to name only one hospital he has built.
Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is a Ghanaian politician and a former Member of Parliament as well as the District Chief Executive for the Fanteakwa North district of the Eastern Region of Ghana. He is also a former Eastern Regional Minister and a former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress. Ampofo is also a former Minister for Local Government and Rural Development. He is currently the national Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
