Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum, Member of Parliament on the ticket of the governing NPP for Fanteakwa South constituency together with his District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Ofosu have successfully commissioned an ultramodern toilet facility at Osino.
The said toilet was funded with $1 million per constituency, a campaign promise by the ruling New Patriotic Party and built under the IPEP (Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Project), also an initiative of the Akufo-Addo led NPP government.
Speaking at the ceremony to commission the project, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum affectionately called Hon. Arafat expressed his gratitude to the government for making this possible and also enumerated other projects in his constituency that are funded from the $1 million per constituency.
“I am very grateful to commission this project today. This is not the only project funded from our $1m per constituency. We have built 3 of such toilet facilities. One at Dwenase and the other one at Ehiamankyene. We have also built three water projects and currently building community halls. One of the facilities near completion is at Nsutam, and others ongoing at Dwenase, Abompe and Heman. We built Ehiamenkyene Market and Bosuso Police Station from the same $1 million per constituency” – Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum said.
Hon. Arafat added that the district cum constituency is glad to have their first share of the $1m per constituency and entreated his constituents to ignore the propaganda that the $1m per constituency is a hoax.
“By God’s grace, Fanteakwa south has got their fair share of the $1m per constituency so ignore those propaganda about the $1m per constituency. We have had our own share.” – Hon. Arafat expressed.
The District Chief Executive, DCE, Hon. Ernest Ofosu also took turn to expressed his utmost gratitude to the president and Member of Parliament for keeping to their promise. He explained how he made the commissioning a reality.
“Once again, I thank Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum for bringing these 3 projects to our district. When the projects were completed, there were little issues so when I assumed office, I found out what really is stopping the use of the facilities. I am confident that by next week, we will commission that of Dwenanse. So I engaged our engineer and just yesterday we sought it out. We are very much grateful.” – Hon. Ernest Ofosu.
The queen mother of Osino, Nana Adwoa Adoma Agyeman III, also advised the the residents of Ofoase Nkatease electoral Area at Osino, not to smoke in the facility.
“Respectfully, no one should come here to smoke. Don’t smoke cigarette or ‘weed’ here and the one who would manage the facility should not sell cigarette or weed here. If we find out you are doing that, we will arrest you.” – Nana Adwoa Adoma Agyeman III advised.
The sariki of Osino zongo, also thanked the MP, DCE and government but like Oliver Twist, appealed to the MP to build CHiP Compound in the area for them.
The chief imam,party chairman and supporters, staff of the District Assembly and other residents of Osino were also present and made the occasion colorful.
