Soldier who fired shots at A&C Mall could be sacked or have rank reduced – Acting Ghana Armed Forces PRO speaks

On New Year’s eve, a man was caught on camera discharging firearms at the A&C mall that triggered a mixed reaction on social media.

A day after the video of him shooting into the air went viral, Police launch a manhunt for him and it was later revealed that he was a military officer with the name, Flt. Sergeant Nicholas Owusu Frimpong.

He was later arrested following Police investigations into the incident, a statement by the Police said on Monday, January 3.

PRO of the Ghana Armed Forces, Commander Andy La-Anyane speaking on the incident mentioned that Flt. Sergeant Nicholas Owusu Frimpong could be sacked.

According to Commander Andy La-Anyane, he could also have his rank reduced and stated that until investigations are concluded and allegations against him against reasonable doubt, he would not be spared.
