The managing Editor for Daily Democrat,Mr Emmanuel Opare Djan who doubles as a National communication team member for NDC has said E-levy is not the solution to developing Ghana.

According to him, Ghana needs transparency and prudent use of the already abundant resources. He then charged the Nana Addo – Bawumia led NPP government to brainstorm and come out with a different alternative to the controversial E-levy.

Mr Emmanuel Opare Djan speaking on Radio 1 morning show with Nana Kwabena Addo on the 7th of February, 2022 made comment on the passage of E-levy by the NPP government.

He stated that, the Npp government was warned about the banking expenditure with which they didn’t give an ear to it with the reason that the banking sector  will be strong to look after the economy .

“Now we don’t see any contribution from it and they are rather bringing E-levy, he said.”

“It’s better to move towards the cashless economy we having now than to bring policy which will strike this cashless system,” Opare Djan added.

The Finance Minister and those at the ministry get paid by the government so it’s better they sit down and bring better alternatives than the E-levy.
