We haven’t been paid our bonuses since 2016 – Ex-Black Princesses captain

According to former Ghanaian U20 captain Kate Adu Agyemang, she and her colleagues are still due victory money from the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2016.

This year’s World Cup was their first appearance at this level, and the Black Princesses were eliminated in group play.

However, each participant was guaranteed $2000 every victory in the tournament’s qualifications, which they won all of.

Only $4000 of the $12,000 they were owed has been paid, according to a video provided by Citi Sports. Kate called on the Sports Ministry to do something about it.

“At the moment, we are attempting to assist ourselves. Our group is completely void of any members. As of 2020, we’ve sent petitions to both the GFA and the Ministry of Sports with no response,” she lamented.

For so long, we have waited.” More than seven years had passed since our last meeting. Please return our funds to our accounts. “Would you do this to us if we were your children?”

“What’s the sense of doing something for seven years if I’m not paid?”

To sum it up: There is no use for me in playing soccer any longer. Please, the money owing to us is the only thing that can help us get our lives back on track. Some of my coworkers have given up football because they can’t afford a pair of boots.

Retired Kate lives in the United States of America at the moment (USA).
