Creflo Dollar, a pastor in the United States, has disproved beliefs that a person’s life can be destroyed if they don’t pay their tithes.
It appears that the famous evangelist, who has long advocated the need for tithing, is going in a new direction.
Recently, when addressing his church, Creflo shared with them that he was still maturing as a preacher and asked them to trash every book and video he had ever written or preached on tithing because it is not scriptural.
“The teachings that I have shared in the time past on the subject of tithing were not correct and today I stand in humility to correct some things that I have taught for years and believed for years but could never understand clearly because I have not yet been confronted with the gospel of grace which has made the difference.
I have no shame at all saying to you, throw away every book, tape and video I ever did on the subject of tithing..unless it alines with this,” he said.
Fear and guilt are the lifeblood of religion, and tithing has been one of the church’s favourite tools for instilling fear and guilt in its flock for a long time.
