Akufo Addo has taken Ghana back to the 1983 famine era – Oboy Siki

Kumawood actor Oboy Siki has made the observation that the current economic hardship, manifested by the high cost of food goods in the country, is comparable to the severe famine that hit the country in 1983.
He claims that Ghanaians who voted against John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had hoped that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Nana Akufo-Addo would come to make things better, but that their aspirations have been crushed.

“Now, the NPPP is killing Ghanaians with hunger. This is a replica of the 1983 famine that killed many Ghanaians. The current economic hardship and high prices of food is the little brother of the 83 famine”. Oboy Siki said this on Ghanaman TV.

Oboy Siki, speaking to the show’s host Nana Yeboah, elaborated, saying, “The difference between now and the famine in 1983 is that there is enough food to buy but Ghanaians do not have the money to buy.”

“This one, there is food but we don’t get the money to buy”, he added.

However, Oboy Siki advised Ghanaians to be harsh in their criticisms of the administration in order to effect change, warning that otherwise, they would be the ones to bear the consequences.
