Asamoah Gyan dedicates Shatta Wale’s ‘On God’ to his critics who slammed him for saying he’ll return to Black Stars ahead of WC

Asamoah Gyan has taken solace in Shatta Wale’s ‘On God’ song to respond to his critics who came for him over his renewed interest in getting back into the Black Stars.
Gyan sparked reactions within the Ghanaian landscape when he declared his intention of working his way back to the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup, having called time with the team two years ago.

“Anything can happen, it has happened before back in 1994 when Roger Milla came back from retirement to play in the World Cup,” he told the BBC Sport.

But I haven’t retired yet, I haven’t announced my retirement, I have been out for almost two years now due to injuries and my body shutting down.

I just need to get my body back in shape, so I have started training of course and I’ll see how my body reacts to playing competitive football.

Talent-wise, everything is there already, so I just have to prepare physically and then we’ll see what happens.”

However a section of football lovers think he should not have made the comment at all because there’s no room for him in the team.

And considering the heartbreaks he has single-handedly subjected soccer fans to in the past, the cacophony of noise that greeted his comments were swift.

In response, Gyan said in a new post that he’s the news and will make his critics keep talking about him.
