Apart from winning the Best Station of the Year, Radio1Ghana 100.7fm bagged additional 9 awards from the 5th edition of the Eastern Region Media Excellence Award.
The ceremony took place at the Linda D’Or plaza in Koforidua on Friday 2nd September, 2022
Among the various nominations in the different radio stations in the region, Radio managed to win the Station of the year, Male Presenter of the year, Blogger of the year, DJ of the Year and Emerging Personality of the year and health related program of the year.
The Issues, a political show was awarded as the first runner up in that category. Nana Yaa Agyapomaa, the mid-morning show host was also adjudged the first runner up in her category. Rahina Shaibu was also awarded the first runner up in the emerging personality of the year.
Aside that, Owuraku Asamoah, the programs manager was acknowledged for his impact in the media industry.
Now below are the individual awards of the staff;
Male Personality award went to Nana Kwabena Addo, the morning show host while Akua Owoahene Acheampomaa won the Emerging Radio Personality award.
Michael Agyapong Agyapa won the Blogger of the year and happens to be the third consecutive win while ‘Me Ne Wo Apomuden’ emerged as the health related program of the year and this is the second consecutive time for winning that category.
The DJ of the year also went to DJ Thonny. What is more exciting is that all nominees and winners give credit to their programs manager, Owuraku Asamoah for nurturing them to such standard.
Better luck next time to those who got nominations but couldn’t win, at least their efforts have been noticed.
