We’ll Sanitize The Land Market Soon – Lands Commission Assures

The Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, James Dadson says the Commission is poised to sanitize the county’s land market.

He said challenges such as multiple sales of lands, and land guards among others are a source of concern to them, stressing they will stop at nothing to nib them in the bud.

Speaking to GBC News, Mr Dadson noted that the Commission has intensified its awareness programme, as well as engaged many stakeholders since last year, all in a bid to sensitise the public to its mandate as established in article 238 of the 1992 constitution.

Mr Dadson indicated that his organisation has witnessed high patronage in the last year, largely due to its public engagement and leveraging of technology for its outreach.

Mr Dadson observed that the Lands Commission has a big role to play in helping to boost investor confidence through prudent land administration structures. He noted that following the year of return and other diasporan engagements, many investors in the diaspora are engaging their services.

Mr Dadson added that the Commission as of its outreach programme has held some road shows abroad including in London.

The Lands Commission Boss Mr James Dadson said the nation will witness more action from his organisation this year. He noted that they are collaborating with the security agencies to undertake regular patrols to safeguard lands from the activities of land guards.

Also, they will strengthen relationships with other state agencies such as the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, and the Ghana Free Zones Board to facilitate their mandate.
